Sophomore ACT PLAN Item-Tryout Test

SCIENCE- 30 out of 43, or 70% scored in the top half of the nation

MATH-20 out of 41, or 49% scored in the top half of the nation

ENGLISH-18 out of 38, or 47% scored in the top half of the nation

READING-19 out of 45, or 42% scored in the top half of the nation

This test was an item tryout test to help ACT continue to develop questions and tests that are valid and effective. By participating in this PLAN item tryout test we were able to help ACT in that pursuit. Each student took one of the four content areas: English, Reading, Math, Science. Many different forms in each content area were used, with each student responding to just one form. Except in those cases where two or more students happened to receive the same form of the test, test results for individual students are not directly comparable. However, both the standard score and the percentile rank do relate the performance of the individual students to that group of students nationally who were given the same form of the test.
