Minutes from January 7, 2013 Meeting

The council had a few questions about the current attendance policy.  Questions were answered related to NC's and a what is considered an excused absence. It was suggested that we work toward a procedure for families to apply for educational travel. Su Tullis was concerned about the sound levels in the commons when students play music.  She suggested that we use an app that would help us measure safe sound levels.  Nan Ault presented the new Twitter account for North Sanpete High School.  Twitter posts made by the principal will be automatically posted on the website.  A comment was made that the link on the parent letter for the accreditation survey was not working, but the link on website did work.  Survey results will be presented to the counsel as soon as they are available.  Nan Ault presented plans for the new registration process.  On-line registration forms and scheduling will be available for the next school year. Nan Ault presented the progress made on the new building and plans to use existing space.  Graduation rates for 2012 were given to the counsel (77%).  First discussion of new school improvement plan was made and the counsel will consider areas of concern.
