Fountain Green Community Council Meeting Tuesday, September 11, 2012

A vote is unnecessary due to our small numbers. Community Council Members (listed above) were introduced.
Two Trust Lands DVDs were watched by the entire committee. We are a high-performing Title I School. Due to changes in testing standard, we will
have a reprieve this year. In the past, Trust Land funds have supported the purchase of smart boards, document cameras, textbooks, desks, chairs, and para-professional in the classroom among other things. The funds are meant to impact the school as a whole as much as possible.
Carry-over budget is roughly $1,800 and we expect around $10,000 in funding for the 2012-2013 school year.
Monthly Community Council Meetings will be the first Wednesday of each month.
Upcoming PTA events: October 1st -5th is Red Ribbon Week; the assembly will be
Monday, October 1st at 9:00 am. Ideas for resources were offered.
The reading program we are sponsoring this year is the Road to Success sponsored by
Ken Garff. The reading goals were explained. Every eight weeks, an award will be presented. A huge push is in progress. Everything we are doing is geared towards increasing reading.
Items for next month: We will look at reviving our Art Fair. We want to look at expanding our focus.
